The Chicago Bears' offense is set to receive a much-needed boost on Sunday.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, rookie wide receiver Velus Jones Jr is expected to play on Sunday against the New York Giants.

Jones was selected by the Bears in the third round (No. 71 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft.

The former Tennessee Vols standout (he first attended USC) had a breakout season as a senior in 2021.

Jones caught 62 passes for 807 yards and seven touchdowns last season for the Vols.

The previous season, Jones caught just 22 passes for 280 yards and three touchdowns. His increase in production can be attributed to a new head coach in Josh Heupel who knew how to properly utilize Jones' biggest asset.

And his biggest asset is his elite speed. Jones ran a 4.31 in the 40-yard dash during the combine. That's more than enough speed to stretch the field for the Bears.

Jones' presence will give quarterback Justin Fields a much-needed downfield threat. As long as the Chicago offensive line can protect him, we should see a more dynamic offense against the Giants with Jones in the mix.
