There's no doubt the Chicago Bears are one of the NFL's most storied franchises.

Even if the franchise has just one Super Bowl since the NFL merger. Even if the recent majority of teams haven't lived up to the overall reputation.

The Bears are in fact trying to get back to their winning ways and the hope is newly-hired general manager Ryan Poles will help get them there. He was part of the Kansas City Chiefs' front office for the last 13 seasons and had a hand in helping the franchise win its first Super Bowl in 50 years.

Poles was officially introduced to the mainstream NFL world Wednesday at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine as he sat down with NFL Network's Peter Schrager to talk about a multitude of topics.

Of course, the interview started off with Schrager asking Poles about the hiring process and what his vision for the Bears franchise entails, but it was the next topic of conversation that really kicked the interview into gear.

Schrager backs up the notion that the Bears franchise is a premier franchise in the NFL. He then essentially asks Poles what and how much it means to him to be working for a franchise like Chicago.

Poles' answer was not only an answer to Schrager's question, but it dove into the substance and depth that defines the Chicago Bears' franchise.

And he also gave one helluva visual of what it's like to walk through the confines of Halas Hall.

"The tradition stands out," Poles said to Schrager. "It's really cool. It's surreal. You know, when you're going to the facility, you're typing into your GPS, '1920 Football Drive'. Then, you pull up and you're going by George Halas' statue. And then they've created this hallway, when you enter, it's almost like a tunnel – it's black. As you walk down, the white lights start to go off. And it's [Walter] Payton, it's [Gale] Sayers, it's [Dick] Butkus.

"It gives you intent everyday to live up to that standard. And everyone should feel that. So, it's exciting and I'm ready to do this."

Even non-Bears fans have chills after listening to that. Include me in that group.
