There's no doubt that the Chicago Bears need to get quarterback Justin Fields some more weapons.

But that's of course easier said than done.

Chicago is trying to stockpile draft picks while also clearing salary during an extensive rebuild under general manager Ryan Poles. That means it's unlikely that the Bears will give up significant draft capital to improve the roster this season.

There's one move, however, that Chicago could make that would make some sense.

The Athletic's Mike Jones thinks there's a chance that New Orleans Saints wide receiver Marquez Callaway would be traded before the November 1 deadline.

From The Athletic:

With multiple teams in need of help at wide receiver, the Saints might do well to deal the third-year pro. Callaway is talented, but his position group is crowded in New Orleans. He will find minutes and targets hard to come by when the Saints’ receiving unit is back to full strength with Chris Olave, Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry leading the way. Callaway had his best season in 2021: 46 catches for 698 yards and six touchdowns while averaging 15.2 yards per reception.

Callaway isn't going to be an NFL superstar, but he would be a good option in Chicago's offense.

The former Tennessee Vols standout is a dangerous vertical threat. And we already know that Fields throws a great deep ball. If the Bears can improve the offensive line (and give Fields more time in the pocket), then Callaway could become a reliable downfield threat in Chicago.

I doubt it would take much to get Callaway from the Saints. And while I understand that the Bears want to hold onto as many draft picks as possible, it would be worth it to send one to New Orleans for Callaway.
