CBS Sports recently named the top free agent that each NFL team should target this offseason and they went with a solid option for the Chicago Bears.

Jordan Dajani, an NFL writer for CBS Sports, thinks the Bears should target San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey

From CBS Sports:

Three takeaways from the Bears offense in 2022: One, Justin Fields is a rising star. Two, he needs some help at wide receiver. Three, Fields also needs some help along the offensive line. McGlinchey is a 28-year-old right tackle who would be an automatic upgrade for the Bears.

There's no doubt that Chicago needs to upgrade their offensive line.

Quarterback Justin Fields is a magician with his legs, and that's a weapon that doesn't need to be taken away, but he needs better protection so he's not always on the run.

McGlinchey would certainly help. He's a solid right tackle that's proven to be reliable during his first few years in the league.

The only problem for Chicago is that it appears McGlinchey wants to remain in San Francisco.

“I love being here,” said McGlinchey this week. “The Bay has become my home.”

McGlinchey won't be giving the 49ers a discount, though.

“Well, it will certainly have a lot to do with it,” said McGlinchey when asked about money being a factor in his decision. “I’m not an idiot.

This is an extremely important offseason for the Bears. The "building phase" of Chicago's rebuild under general manager Ryan Poles begins this offseason. The Bears can't afford to waste any time.
