The Justin Fields era in Chicago is all but over, as every indication during the NFL Combine points to the Bears trading their 2021 first-round pick. General manager Ryan Poles is expected to select a quarterback with the first overall pick, and he said the plan is to trade Fields if that happens.

Now, there are two questions left. The first is how much will the Bears get in a trade, and the talk around the Combine isn't as positive for Chicago's interests.

The second is who will be willing to acquire Fields. So let's talk about five realistic landing spots.

Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons changed their coaching staff, and new offensive coordinator Zac Robinson runs a similar system to what Luke Getsy did in Chicago — that might be a good or a bad thing, depending on your perspective about how things transpired with the Bears.

The Falcons badly need a quarterback, and they don't draft until the eighth overall pick. So their options are signing a veteran, and there are rumors about Kirk Cousins there too, maybe a trade up in the draft, or Justin Fields.

Fields might not have been what the Bears expected three years ago, but he would most likely be a significant upgrade over Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke, who alternated games last year.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Kenny Pickett is a first-round investment as well and has one extra cheap year. But his performance has been bad. Another former Bears QB, Mitch Trubisky, has been released and Mason Rudolph is a free agent, which makes the situation more curious.

If Mike Tomlin wants to create a more dinamic offense, he could advocate for a Justin Fields trade, so new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith could design a run-centric offense.

New England Patriots

The Patriots will have the third overall pick, so they might very well take a quarterback like Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels. But it's a totally different and new structure in New England, so it's impossible to know for sure how they will operate. De facto general manager Eliot Wolf might feel his roster is not ready for a rookie quarterback, deciing to trade down from the third pick and looking for a veteran to make some sort of transition.

The new Patriots' offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt has worked with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Josh Freeman, Aaron Rodgers, Andy Dalton, Baker Mayfield, and Deshaun Watson, so he has a good perspective from different angles and types of players.

Las Vegas Raiders

Without Josh McDaniels, the Jimmy Garoppolo experience is over in Las Vegas. Aidan O'Connell has been the starter, but it doesn't feel like the Raiders are tied to him. The team has good offensive weapons, like Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers, so adding a dual-threat quarterback could be intriguing.

The biggest issue here is that the new Raiders offensive coordinator is exactly Luke Getsy, who couldn't get more out of fields during his two seasons as the Bears' OC.

The Raiders only have the 13th overall pick, so they might be forced to explore other avenues to find a starting-level quarterback.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Theoretically, the Bucs could just re-sign Baker Mayfield, who played pretty well last season. But Mayfield is free to sign anywhere, and there are rumors that other teams could be interested too — like the New England Patriots.

Under Todd Bowles, it's hard to imagine the Bucs going with a rookie QB, and new offensive coordinator Liam Coen has worked for the Los Angeles Rams, so there is schematic verbiage carryover.

The Bucs only have the 26th overall pick, so finding an immediate starter in the draft is not very realistic. Moreover, as Mayfield is still plan A, there isn't much talk about them looking for other options in free agency.
