Over the next few weeks, the Chicago Bears' head coaching search is going to take a lot of wild turns and fans are more than likely going to lose their minds each time a report or suggestion comes to light.

Let's go ahead and get one of those potential options fans are going to despise out of the way and honestly he would fit a lot of the traits Kevin Warren and Ryan Poles are searching for in the team's next head coach.

The Bears made it clear they want a proven candidate and someone who ideally could put an offensive system in place that would help take rookie quarterback Caleb Williams to the next level.

Right now, the hottest names being linked to the Bears are Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel. These two options are on complete opposite sides of the spectrum from each other, but the candidate I plan on discussing today is the happy medium between the two.

Dallas Cowboys' head coach Mike McCarthy is on the final year of his head coaching contract and his future with the team is still up in the air. Playoff success, or the lack there of, and a disappointing season currently has McCarthy on the pseudo-hot seat.

If the Cowboys, and mainly Jerry Jones, decide to go in a different direction and let McCarthy out of the could, would the Bears be interested? And would McCarthy even be interested in coming to Chicago? Here's what our own Dallas Cowboys expert Mauricio Rodriguez had to say:

"It's not just the Cowboys' decision. After all, McCarthy is in a contract year. He controls his destiny just as much as Dallas does," Rodriguez explained. "He can't be forced to stick around. And with the way things operate at Jerry World, if he sees an alternative for his coaching career, it seems possible he'd take it."

We know McCarthy has a lot of history in the NFC North after spending 13 seasons with the Packers that included bringing the Lombardi Trophy back to Green Bay in 2010. He still has a special place in his heart for the area and leading historic franchises is obviously something he looks for after going from Green Bay to Dallas.

It's hard to find a more accomplished and proven coach than McCarthy among the potential options available after Bill Belichick landed with UNC. McCarthy has led his team to double-digit wins in 11 seasons between the Packers and Cowboys and his offensive mind is still somewhat effective in the modern NFL landscape.

Last season, Dak Prescott led the NFL in passing touchdowns while on a 12-win team. Working with Aaron Rodgers, McCarthy got the best out of the future first ballot Hall of Famer. Pairing him with Caleb Williams could led to great things for Chicago, but hiring McCarthy comes with a major risk.

That risk comes from actually playing it safe by hiring a coach with a high floor but limited ceiling instead of going after the big fish in a candidate like Ben Johnson. We all know playing it safe is something the McCaskey family would be fine with, but is it really the right move to make once again?

The fans in Chicago are yearning for a fiery head coach looking to prove himself and establish a team culture other teams would fear going up against. I'm not so sure McCarthy is the guy that can do that. Although, he is someone the players love.

Prescott and Micah Parsons have been increasingly vocal over the last few weeks about wanting the Cowboys to bring McCarthy back after this brutal season. That says something about a coach.

Would McCarthy be someone the players love, who can get the best out of Caleb Williams, and can create sustained regular season success? The answer is yes.

Is he someone the Bears truly need at this critical juncture for the future of the franchise? I'm not sure that's the case, but we'll see what the organization prioritizes if the Cowboys let McCarthy hit the market.
