The Chicago Bears have a much-improved roster compared to 2022. Naturally, this means some people who played key roles last season will not do the same this season.

One position group where this is extremely evident is the wide receiver room. After sporting one of the least-talented WR rooms in the league, GM Ryan Poles made it a priority to add talent here.

DJ Moore, rookie Tyler Scott, and a full season of Chase Claypool could transform the Bears' offense. That could mean one starting WR from 2022 is looking for a new team soon.

Equanimeous St. Brown signed with the Bears for the 2022 season after spending the first four seasons of his career with the division-rival Packers.

St. Brown started in 16 games for the Bears last season, but his production was not overly impressive. The veteran receiver came down with 21 catches for 323 yards and one touchdown. The receiver re-upped with the Bears this offseason on another one-year deal. However, St. Brown's deal only included $85K in guaranteed signing bonus, meaning the team could cut him at no cost.

DJ Moore, Chase Claypool, Darnell Mooney, and Tyler Scott are locks to make the roster. Assuming the team keeps six receivers, that means St. Brown is battling against Dante Pettis, Velus Jones Jr., Daurice Fountain, Nsimba Webster, Joe Reed, and Isaiah Ford.

Fountain and Webster have both shown flashes this summer and Jones is a weapon who can play multiple positions and return kicks. Pettis is a veteran who only had two fewer catches than St. Brown last season despite starting in just seven games.

St. Brown has spent most of the summer being included on final rosters in Chicago. However, due to some of the other players outperforming him, he could be on the chopping block.
