The Chicago Bears had an eventful Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft after coming away with three different prospects at different positions and even managed to make a trade to recoup some added selections.

Heading into Day 3, the Bears have three more selections currently in the draft (109, 148, and 233). As for which positions the Bears will look to target with those remaining three selections, the team still has three roster needs yet to be addressed in the draft.

1. Defensive End

The top remaining need has to be at defensive end. The first three rounds were filled with talented edge rushers, although multiple had individual concerns to be worried about. Therefore, the Bears opted not to take any impact edge pass rushers so far.

General manager Ryan Poles stressed the importance of having waves of pass rushers yet so far the only addition in that department off the edge has been Dayo Odeyingbo, pairing him with Montez Sweat, Austin Booker, and Dominique Robinson.

Adding one of the remaining players makes sense given the talent still remaining at the position. Multiple guys can still have impact ability if the Bears add one to the rotation.

Top Fits: Bradyn Swinson, Que Robinson, Kyle Kennard

2. Running Back

It was a shock to see the Bears pass on a running back again on Day 2, meaning the Bears seemingly will look to take their chances landing a quality player on Day 3.

For Ben Johnson's offense to run effectively, he'll need a power back to handle the bulk of the carries while D'Andre Swift mixes in as the change of pace, explosive back. A lot of players fitting that mold went off the board on Day 2 but there's still some options remaining in a deep class.

No matter what, all signs still point toward the Bears making some kind of addition to the backfield with one of their three Day 3 selections on Saturday.

Top Fits: Brashard Smith, Bhayshul Tuten, Dylan Sampson, Cam Skattebo

3. Safety

This seems like a much bigger need for 2026 but one the Bears can address ahead of time in this draft. Going into the 2025 season, both starters will be returning to the position in Kevin Byard and Jaquan Brisker.

Both players are currently headed into the final year of their contracts with the team. Byard will be 32 when the 2025 season begins and Brisker's concussion history makes negotiations more difficult for his second contract. Simply put, the future of either player in Chicago is still up in the air. And all the depth players have one year left too.

Day 3 will be the last shot to land some safety help in the class to give the team some long-term reassurances at the position.
