Travis Kelce has taken the world by storm this past year, becoming one of the most public figures due to his relationship with Taylor Swift.
Yet with all the distractions, he still remains a top tight end. And according to numerous NFL executives, coaches, and scouts, he's actually No. 1
Every season prior to training camp, ESPN surveys league executives, coaches and scouts to rank the top 10 players at 11 positions. And on Friday, they released the the list for tight ends.
Kelce was also ranked first last year.
"He's still a matchup problem in the passing game, still has tremendous rapport with [Patrick] Mahomes, big with great hands, instinctive, effective after the catch," an NFC executive told ESPN.
"He's the focal point. You can put more resources toward stopping him," the executive added. "For years, he would kill one-on-ones every time. He maybe doesn't do that as much but [is] still a problem there."
Knowing they have the best tight end in the league, the Kansas City Chiefs had to post a photo celebrating Travis' top ranking. And they also couldn't help themselves, slipping in one Taylor Swift reference.
On the graphic, the Chiefs included a short paragraph.
"Travis Kelce, the Big Yeti himself, has been ranked as the NFL's best tight end by execs, coaches, scouts, and players. You might even say he knows how to ball."
Above, we underlined the Taylor Swift reference, which comes directly from Swift's song 'So High School,' from her album The Tortured Poets Department. This song is also about her relationship with the tight end.
"You know how to ball, I know Aristotle," Swift sings.
Taylor Swift dedicates an incredible mashup to Travis Kelce
The singer proudly tells the world that Travis Kelce is hers at every chance she gets. (And he responds each and every time.)
But while performing in Amsterdam, she did something extra special compared to her normal tributes.
Fans wait patiently every single night for the surprise song section of Swift's Eras Tour show, not knowing what the singer has up her sleeve. At the start of her shows, Swift would pick just two songs to perform. But now, she has been incorporating numerous mashups, allowing her to pick many different songs from her diverse discography.
On Saturday night, with Kelce in the crowd, Swift sang a very special mashup that was clearly dedicated to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. Plus, it was even better that Patrick and Brittany Mahomes were there to witness it.
Swift sang a mashup of 'Mary's Song,' 'So High School,' and 'Everything Has Changed.'
And during the performance, one fan caught a video of Kelce's reaction, showing Brittany Mahomes going over to see him. Some even think that he might be wiping some tears away.
