Caleb Downs’ brother is aligned with most Bengals fans regarding the ideal 2026 NFL Draft landing spot for the Ohio State star
Josh Downs is indeed down for the Bengals to draft his brother.
Who should the Cincinnati Bengals pick with the No. 10 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft? Most fans would scream Caleb Downs‘ name as the answer.
Josh Downs, Caleb’s brother and Indianapolis Colts wide receiver since the 2023 draft, would agree. Downs listed Cincinnati as one of his the two teams he’d like to see his younger brother realistically land in the draft.
“Bengals or Giants would be pretty cool,” Downs said in an interview with Overtime. He also clarified he’d love for the Colts to draft his brother, but knows Indy will be drafting too late in the round to select him.
The younger Downs played the last two years at Ohio State. Staying in the Buckeye State would be quite convenient for the Georgia native, but Cincinnati actually has more to offer him than just location.
Josh Downs shouts out Bengals players from his high school
Josh played high school football at North Gwinnett in Suwanee, GA, a few years before Caleb started making a name for himself at Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, GA. While at North Gwinnett, Josh was teammates with Bengals cornerback DJ Turner II, and linebacker Barrett Carter.
He believes Cincinnati is on its way to forming a solid defense with two of his former teammates.
“One of my dogs, DJ Turner, plays in their secondary, and their linebacker, Barrett Carter, I went to high school with both of those dudes,” Downs said. “They’re gonna build some over there.”
Add 2023’s No. 1 safety recruit in the nation, and you might just be cooking with something.
Downs is on the money about Turner. The former second-round pick from the same draft class as Downs just wrapped up his best season as a pro, and had a great case to be a first-time Pro Bowler. Carter was just a rookie in 2025 and struggled immensely for most of the season, but will be given every chance to prove himself in 2026.
The Bengals are in desperate need of a safety. Geno Stone is expected to leave in free agency, and even after the expected signing of his replacement in free agency, Downs could be the best pick they could make at No. 10 overall. New York figures to be in play for him as well, so it may be a matter of whether or not the 21-year old even makes it past the first nine picks.
If a large section of the fan base gets their way, we know at least one member of the Downs family will be elated.
