Bengals' new addition immediately throws shade at national media after agreeing to deal
The Cincinnati Bengals made a big addition to their offensive line on Wednesday evening
The Cincinnati Bengals addressed the offensive tackle position — one of their biggest offseason needs — by signing Orlando Brown Jr to a four-year deal worth $64 million on Wednesday evening.
Cincinnati's new addition is expected to play left tackle which means Jonah Williams will likely move to right tackle.
Brown was named to his fourth straight Pro Bowl this past season.
Brown quickly confirmed on Wednesday evening that he'll fit into the Bengals' locker room just fine.
Cincinnati is a team that plays with a chip on its shoulder — they thrived off being disrespected last season.
Brown operates with the same mindset.
After agreeing to the deal with Cincinnati on Wednesday, Brown tweeted a clip of various analysts criticizing the former Oklahoma Sooners standout ahead of the 2018 NFL Draft.
The clip featured analysts suggesting that Brown was too slow to be a starter in the NFL. They also criticized how many reps he bench-pressed at the 2018 draft combine and they questioned his demeanor.
Brown is now one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL and he just received a lucrative longterm contract, yet he's still out to prove that the critics in 2018 were wrong.
That's the kind of mindset that will fit right in with the Bengals.
