The Cincinnati Bengals are on a roll as of late. Winners of seven straight, the Bengals still have a shot at the top overall seed in the AFC playoffs.

As the postseason approaches, the Bengals have found their groove and are set to make another run at a Super Bowl much like a season ago, although the task will be immense. However, if anyone thinks beating the Bengals will be an easy task, running back Joe Mixon put that to bed earlier this week.

"At the end of the day, what people got to realize and understand, we the big dog of the AFC and that's just what it is," Mixon said Saturday. "For anything to happen, it goes through us."

Whew, spicy.

Although the Bengals need some work to technically get the AFC playoffs to come through Cincinnati, Mixon has a reason to be confident. The Chiefs, who currently hold the top seed in the conference, have lost their last three games against the Bengals, losing in Cincinnati and Kansas City, including last season's AFC Championship Game.

Mixon should also have a lot of belief in the Bengals simply because of their offensive firepower. Joe Burrow has established himself as one of the NFL’S top quarterbacks, and Ja'Marr Chase is a top-five player at the wide receiver position. Sprinkle in receivers Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd, plus Mixon, the Bengals possess quite the arsenal.

The Bengals have a major test on Monday. They host the 12-3 Buffalo Bills who control their destiny and will lock up the top seed in the AFC with wins in each of their final two games.

Mixon understands the importance of this particular game.

"We know what our end goal is and in order to get to that end goal we got to get through Buffalo," Mixon said. "We got to keep one week at a time and everything else take care of itself."

The game between the Bengals and the Bills was already going to be a barn burner. However, seeing as it's a potential playoff matchup, plus Mixon's bulletin board material, it just got that much more interesting.
