Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow experienced a somewhat awkward moment on national television on Monday night.
Burrow was a guest on the "ManningCast" during the Monday night game between the Arizona Cardinals and the New England Patriots.
At one point during his appearance, the Manning brothers, Peyton and Eli, brought up a recent viral video that showed a female named Haven, who had just had her wisdom teeth removed, talking about Burrow.
In the video, Haven says, while talking about Burrow, that she goes for "ambition and not looks".
"It sounds like I'm being called ugly there if you ask me," said an awkwardly smiling Burrow.
I'm a big fan of the ManningCast and I was excited when I saw that Burrow was going to be a guest. But the appearance left a lot to be desired. Instead of viral videos and talking about cigars, it would've been nice to just hear Burrow's take on the game and what was happening on the field.
Part of the brilliance of the ManningCast is hearing Peyton and Eli talk football/Xs and Os with players/former players. And that's what I was hoping the majority of Burrow's appearance would be.
Maybe next time.
