Getting right quickly

Avoiding a second-straight 0-2 start is very much on the minds of the Bengals. Just about everything went wrong for Joe Burrow and the offense last week against the Cleveland Browns, which means there’s no room but to go up from here. The issue will be doing so against a Ravens defense that figured out how to limit explosive plays from Burrow and his receivers last year. This will not be a walk in the park by any means.

3 Bengals players to watch

  • QB Joe Burrow: The guy doesn't have two bad games in a row, and for the price of $55 million a year, he can't really afford to have another stinker so soon. Burrow playing well would mean more than just a Bengals victory, it would signify that last week really was just a fluke. The question revolves around his calf, which is still a thing he's working through. The Ravens will likely try to blitz and get him off his spot early.
  • WR Tee Higgins: Zero yards is where Higgins is currently at on the season. Not great! The fourth-year receiver failed to connect on any of his eight targets from Burrow last week, but it was hardly just his fault alone. Now he'll face a Ragens secondary that’s weakened from injuries. Expect to see the Higgins we all know and love.
  • ED Sam Hubbard: The hero of the last meeting between these teams usually plays well against Baltimore. Hubbard's ability to set the edge and successfully mush rush Lamar Jackson makes him a valuable asset in limiting the Ravens' offense. He may not have another Fumble in the Jungle moment up his sleeve this time, but he'll be one of the most important players on defense.
