As if losing by 24 points wasn't bad enough, the Cincinnati Bengals also lost one of their best players in Tee Higgins to injury against the Tennessee Titans.

NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported Higgins suffered a rib fracture midway through the Bengals' 27-3 loss in Tennessee, causing him to miss the entire second half.

The question now becomes how long will Higgins be out. The answer could be a few weeks.

Per Rapoport, the Bengals could look for Higgins to play again right after their Week 7 bye. The Bengals have two more games to get through until then, meaning Higgins is on track to miss both of them while he recovers.

"From what I understand he is dealing with a rib fracture, suffered a rib injury yesterday, was declared out. They have two games and then they have a bye… Perhaps that is when he ends up making his return to the field." – NFL insider Ian Rapoport on Higgins' return timeline

Minor injuries have been a theme for Higgins over the past few years. The Bengals essentially played two games without him last year despite him dressing for those games, and he was inactive for two games early in the 2021 season as well.

As the Bengals' offense has struggled mightily, so has the fourth-year receiver. Sunday was the third time Higgins has finished a game this season with two receptions or fewer. He's on pace to fall well below his season averages, and missing any amount of time won't help with that.

The Bengals have had trouble getting one of their best players going, and now they'll have to figure out how to thrive without him for the time being.
