The unexpected has become normalized for the Cincinnati Bengals this season. Back-to-back wins against the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills look just as prominent as the shellackings they took to the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans look ghastly.

Irv Smith Jr. and Drew Sample each caught a touchdown pass in the same game! What more chaos could you want?

With the back half of the season upon us, here's three bold predictions that just might come true for the Bengals.

Tee Higgins gets to 1,000 receiving yards

This would’ve seemed impossible a few weeks back, but Higgins of old has officially resurfaced over the past two games. He racked up a nice 69 yards on five receptions two Sundays ago against the San Francisco 49ers, and nearly doubled that output this past Sunday against the Buffalo Bills with 110 yards on eight receptions. He's now up to 328 yards on the season with nine games to go.

Higgins is more than capable of averaging 74.67 yards per contest to end the season, especially at the rate he's been at the last two weeks.

Logan Wilson makes a Pro Bowl push

What makes a Pro Bowl linebacker? Lots of tackles, lots of interceptions, and lots of wins. The counting stats are what counts at the online ballots when they open up, and Wilson’s name will be at the top for takeaways through the air. He also leads the Bengals’ stingy defense in tackles as he rarely leaves the field.

The Bengals have not had a Pro Bowl defender not named Trey Hendrickson since 2019 when Geno Atkins received the honor for the eighth time in his career. Wilson should be on track to join that company.

Bengals win out at home

Cincinnati’s home field advantage has been incredibly strong the past two years. The Bengals have now won 16 of their 22 home games since the start of the 2021 season, including both Wild Card playoff victories. They have five remaining in these last nine games, as the Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, and Cleveland Browns all make their way to the Queen City.

That should be five wins on paper. We’ll see it translates to reality.
