The Cincinnati Bengals have unveiled their inactive players list for their Week 16 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The following players will not suit up for the Bengals tonight:
- DL Travis Bell
- WR Ja'Marr Chase
- RB Chris Evans
- LB Devin Harper
- OL Trey Hill
- OL D'Ante Smith
- TE Irv Smith Jr.
Chase was declared out on Thursday. He suffered a separated shoulder a week ago against the Minnesota Vikings and missed all three practices this week. Trenton Irwin and Andrei Iosivas will each do their part in replacing the two-time Pro Bowler.
Every other player listed above is a healthy scratch, including Irv Smith Jr. The fifth-year player began the season as the starting tight end, and has slowly, but surely, been demoted to fourth on the depth chart. Tanner Hudson and Drew Sample have both become starters in their own way, with Mitchell Wilcox backing them up.
If it wasn't already a foregone conclusion, the chances of Smith coming back to the Bengals next season are slim to none.
Life-changing opportunity is in front of Bengals’ Tee Higgins
As injuries pile up for the Bengals, their top remaining weapon has a chance to seize the moment.
