The deep ball between Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase used to be the catalyst for the Cincinnati Bengals' offense, and it made a triumphant return during Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Burrow and Chase linked up 58.1 yards down the field from Burrow's launch point for the second of three touchdowns between the two in a crucial 34-20 win.

The throw was the longest of Burrow's NFL career by air yards, which also makes it the longest catch of Chase's career by the same metric. Head coach Zac Taylor didn't shy away from praising Chase for completing what he labels a very difficult reception.

Not only did Chase catch the ball over the shoulder and in stride, the angle of which the ball came down had Chase looking over his left side while running a deep post towards the right. That layer of difficulty was not lost on his head coach.

"It was really hard. I was surprised how he caught it kind of over his left eye," Taylor told media members during Monday's presser. "I can't do that. And, if you've never run with a helmet on down the field trying to track the ball, you don't understand how difficult that is. The helmet's kind of rattling around and you're trying to track the ball and there's lights in an indoor [stadium]. … It was a strange angle with how it ended up coming down and he made it look so effortless, and that's why he's Ja'Marr."

Tough catches are Chase's bread and butter, but you'd be hard pressed to find someone who wasn't impressed with the grab. It was his biggest play since Week 6 of last season when ran in a game-winning 60-yard touchdown against the New Orleans Saints.

With Burrow getting healthier by the week, more deep shots should be on the table when opposing coverages give them an opening. Chase will be ready for each and every one.
