The Cincinnati Bengals took down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon despite falling behind 17-3 in the first half.
Cincinnati's comeback started in the third quarter thanks to a botched fake punt by Tampa Bay.
Former Bengals running back Giovanni Bernard, who joined the Bucs last season, didn't appear to be ready for the snap and the ball bounced off his helmet, resulting in a turnover on downs.
After the game, Bernard attempted to dodge reporters when they approached him to ask about the fake punt.
Bernard eventually agreed to speak about the play and the interaction was bizarre, to say the least.
Bernard took responsibility for the botched play, but he wouldn't tell reporters if the play was supposed to be a fake punt, though he said there was a "miscommunication".
When pressed further, Bernard told reporters, while smirking, "No. 25 out there, yeah that was me, I was the one that did it".
It sounds like the Bucs called for the fake punt and Bernard wasn't on the same page. Either way, the former Bengals running back could've handled that situation with reporters a lot better.
