Back where it all happened
The Damar Hamlin story will come full circle tonight as this matchup returns to the venue where the unthinkable went down almost exactly 10 months ago. His survival thanks to the outstanding medical teams for the Buffalo Bills and the University of Cincinnati Medical Center will be celebrated as both sides will look back before moving on to playing an all-important primetime game.
3 Bengals players to watch
- RB Joe Mixon: He went off the last time these two teams faced each other, and the seventh-year veteran is coming off his best game of the season. Mixon was a direct beneficiary of the Bengals' newfound formational balance a week ago against the San Francisco 49ers, and will now go up against a Bills' defensive front that has been depleted in recent weeks.
- WR Tee Higgins: Cincinnati's offense is so much more dynamic when both Mixon and Higgins are playing well, as evidenced from last week. Higgins stacking quality games will go a long for boosting his confidence down the stretch. He was also the player Hamlin tackled before he went down. Emotions will be a factor for him as much as any on the field.
- LB Logan Wilson: Any Bengals-Bills matchup will always have the Wyoming connection to discuss. Quarterback Josh Allen and Wilson were teammates at Wyoming before they each left two years apart. Linebacker play is crucial when containing Allen in the pocket, and closing in on tight-window throws over the middle. The quarterback of Cincy's defense will need a great game.
