Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase knew the tricks were coming in the 2026 Pro Bowl Games, and quarterback Joe Burrow proved him right.

Burrow, who was one of the final players added to the NFL’s annual all-star game, scored the AFC’s first touchdown after catching a backwards pass from Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane, and scooting past Dallas Cowboys wide receiver KaVontae Turpin.

Burrow spiked the ball with a guttural yell, and got AFC head coach Steve Young hyped up on the sideline.

“Joe Burrow has some legs man,” Young said. “Did you see that? That was sweet!”

Chase saw it, and in a way, predicted it two days prior.

Ja’Marr Chase wasn’t lying about trick plays in the Pro Bowl

Chase is no stranger to the Pro Bowl, as Tuesday night was the fourth he participated in, but took note earlier in the week how many trick plays were in the AFC’s playbook.

“I ain’t gonna lie we must got hella tricks this year,” Chase said during Sunday’s Pro Bowl practice. “I don’t remember this many tricks. We got hella tricks in our bag this year.”

A QB catch-and-run for a touchdown surely counts as a trick play, and it was Chase’s QB who got the AFC on the board first.

Chase joined the party just moments later on the other side of the ball. While lined up at cornerback, Chase snagged a one-handed interception and returned it for a touchdown. He ended the play with a backwards flip into the end zone.

Ja’Marr “Travis Hunter” Chase? Maybe not, but this is the time to show off the ball skills however you can.

To add on to the trick-play bonanza, Denver Broncos left tackle Garrett Bolles caught a two-point conversion that was ultimately called back, but then found the end zone multiple times for retribution. The scores contributed to the AFC’s 44-36 halftime lead.
