Head coach Zac Taylor and the Cincinnati Bengals played it smart with a few of their starters leading up to Week 14's critical matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.

Slot receiver Tyler Boyd (ankle) and cornerback DJ Turner II (hamstring) are on track to play Sunday despite being limited at practice throughout the week. Taylor told reporters that was the plan for the week, and nose tackle DJ Reader got the rest treatment as well.

Boyd and Turner popped up on Thursday's injury report with their respective injuries after they were left off the projected injury report on Wednesday. Based off Taylor's comments, it appears their injuries were not suffered during practice, rather they were already known and Taylor limited them.

Most players in the NFL are banged up right now, but the team has to report injuries that cause any amounts of practice time being missed. Fortunately, these injuries don't seem to be serious enough to keep them out of Sunday's game.

Boyd is listed as questionable on the injury report, and Turner does not have a designation as he practiced in full Friday. Reader was held out with a back injury and is also questionable.

Offensive tackle D'Ante Smith missed a second straight practice due to personal reasons and is questionable as well.
