An already small injury report for the Cincinnati Bengals is getting better as game day approaches.
Starting cornerback Chidobe Awuzie, who's missed the Bengals' Week 5 win and their last two practices going back to last week, returned to the field Thursday.
Awuzie suffered a back injury a week ago in practice, causing him to miss his first game of the season on Sunday. Head coach Zac Taylor labeled him as "day-to-day" with the injury on Wednesday and was held out of practice that day.
Starting wideout Tee Higgins (rib fracture) also got the day-to-day label from Taylor this week, but he's now practiced in back-to-back days in limited fashion. His status for playing Sunday looks promising with one practice remaining.
Linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither (knee) has yet to practice and is a safe bet to miss his third consecutive game. But he was the only player to not practice due to injury. Fellow linebacker Devin Harper was limited after missing Wednesday.
Rookie edge defender Myles Murphy was absent from Thursday's practice due to a personal reason.
