Controversial former Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Eli Apple was back in headlines this week after signing with the Miami Dolphins.

Miami signed Apple after star cornerback Jalen Ramsey suffered an injury during training camp that's expected to force him to miss the start of the regular season.

Apple's addition to the Dolphins' roster generated some headlines because it means he'll be teammates with former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

Apple and Hills exchanged some trash talk over social media after the Bengals beat the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game two seasons ago.

McDaniel noted that the team spoke with Hill before signing Apple.

And I'm guessing that any potential drama between Hill and Apple isn't a big concern for McDaniel because he's apparently already forgotten that the former Bengals defensive back is on Miami's roster.

McDaniel was asked about Apple on Monday during a media session and the Dolphins' head coach nearly went into a rant about fruit before he was reminded about Apple's presence on the roster.

Here's the exchange with McDaniel.

I'm sure it won't be long before Apple and Hill are jawing at each other in practice. And at that point, it will be impossible for McDaniel to forget that Apple's on Miami's roster.
