There is some good news for the Cleveland Browns to start their week on the injury report.

QB Deshaun Watson is going to practice today on a limited basis after not practicing at all last week, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Watson took a tough hit against the Indianapolis Colts and did not return with the hurt shoulder. It should be a good sign that he is practicing this early in the week for his availability going forward.

Not practicing for the Browns on Wednesday ahead of the Week 9 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals are WR David Bell (knee), RT Dawand Jones (shoulder), CB Greg Newsome II (groin), and DE Alex Wright (knee).

On defense, DE Za’Darius Smith is dealing with a neck injury and is going to rest today. Stefanski said he feels good about Smith’s ability to go on Sunday, so it looks like all is okay after being shaken up against the Seahawks.

Prior to practice, RB Jerome Ford revealed his ankle is feeling pretty good during media availability Wednesday after being a bit limited last week with nine attempts. Going into the game it wasn’t known if he would be able to play with the original thought he would be missing a week or two.

If Watson can not go against the Cardinals it is going to be P.J. Walker as the starter again.

For Jones and Newsome, it’s going to be a wait-and-see game to know if they’ll be able to go against the Cardinals. It has been James Hudson at right tackle and rookie Cam Mitchell in the slot when the two left against Seattle.
