It's only November but Dallas Cowboys fans are starting to mentally turn the page as the team sits at 3-6 and Dak Prescott is out for the season.
That means the Cowboys are trending right for a top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, which makes mock draft season much more exciting for America's Team aficionados.
As such, I wanted to dive into fellow A to Z Sports' writer Ryan Roberts' two-round NFL mock draft and zero in on Dallas' picks, who are projected to select 11th and 43rd overall as the standings sit right now.
11. Dallas Cowboys – Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Roberts: The Cowboys leading rusher is Rico Dowdle, and that just isn’t going to get it done. Jeanty is one of the prospects who has a strong case as the best in the class regardless of positional value. This is a move that can completely transform your running back room instantly.
Listen, Jeanty is one of the most dynamic players in the upcoming draft class and it'll be very hard not to be excited about it if he's the name Roger Goodell calls for Dallas next April. With that being said, the positional value aspect Roberts mentions above could be a particularly big deal for a team with as many needs as the Cowboys have going into next year.
The Cowboys need a tackle, wide receiver, defensive line help, and much more. Adding the potentially best prospect in the class is enticing but there's a legit argument to be made against it just because of the position he plays.
With all that being said, Jeanty is freaking fun to watch. For now, I won't sweat it too much.
43. Dallas Cowboys – Shemar Turner, DT, Texas A&M
Below are Roberts' thoughts on Turner:
After lining up mostly on the EDGE, Texas A&M star Shemar Turner (#5) has played mostly inside this season for the Aggies. Tremendous athlete for his size (6030v, 289v) with extreme twitch as a pass rusher. Turner is still an ascending player who continues to get better.

The Cowboys will need to beef up up front. With Osa Odighizuwa set to hit free agency in 2025 and Mazi Smith shaping up to be a draft bus, this could be the move early in the upcoming draft. Even a first-round pick could be used in a defensive tackle at this point.
There's a thousand ways things could go for the Cowboys with so many needs and so many good players available with good picks at their disposal. It might be too early, but blame the team's 3-6 record for the draft content that's headed Cowboys fans' way.
