4 winners and 4 losers from Lions win over Browns, troubled player finally has a big game
Terrion Arnold had a nice showing before the injury
The Detroit Lions got the job done against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday with a 34-10 win at home. It wasn’t pretty, but it’s the kind of thing that you like to see in a sense.
It shows you that the team can grit out a big win, even when it looks sloppy on offense. We’ve got four winners and four losers.
Winners
Aidan Hutchinson
It was another banger of a game from Hutchinson. He finished the day with eight pressures and two sacks. One of which resulted in a touchdown on the Lions’ ensuing drive. Through four games, he has 24 pressures and five sacks. This time last year, he had 32 pressures and six sacks. He’s pretty much right where he was before the injury.
Aidan Hutchinson Pressures and Sacks per game in 2025
- Week 1: Two pressures and no sacks
- Week 2: Five pressures and a sack
- Week 3: Nine pressures and two sacks
- Week 4: Eight pressures and two sacks
Jack Campbell
I still can’t believe there were actual individuals who call themselves fans of this football team who wanted the Lions to trade Campbell to the Bengals for 31-year-old Trey Hendrickson.
I say this without hyperbole: Campbell has been a top-five linebacker in the NFL this season. In this game, he had another standout performance. He was the Lions’ highest graded player altogether, according to Pro Football Focus, with a 91.6 grade.
Jahmyr Gibbs
The Browns’ defense is no joke. This unit does not allow guys to just run on them. That didn’t stop Gibbs from having a nice 91-yard day on the ground. He even got into the end zone as well. It was a good performance from him, considering this unit shut down Derrick Henry and Josh Jacobs already.
Terrion Arnold
I considered putting Arnold in the loser section due to the injury, but he deserves a shoutout for this game. I know everyone will focus only on the first bad thing that happened to him, and that was the two defensive holding calls on the game’s first defensive drive, but he was great after that.
He was targeted three times and allowed two catches for just 22 yards. He otherwise took his man off the board and helped make life hard for Joe Flacco. He also finished the game with six tackles. Hopefully, the injury isn’t a long-term one. Although it sounds like it’s not at this time.
Losers
Jameson Williams
It was just a bad day for Williams. You can make the argument that Jared Goff had some bad throws, and you’d be right, but Williams had two huge catches in his hands and dropped both. It’s nothing to harp on or worry about. He still blocked his tail off and did everything he should do. He just has to forget about this game.
Jared Goff
This was the worst game we’ve seen from Goff in some time. Completing 59% of his passes is just not something we’re used to. He couldn’t get the deep ball going, and there were some throws that had you scratching your head a bit.
Like Jamo, this is one to just forget about. The team won, and that’s all you need to know. Fix the little stuff and move on.
Taylor Decker
Going against Myles Garrett is not easy. You can’t blame Decker for having some struggles in this one. Look, the Lions didn’t allow a sack, so that’s good.
But Decker allowed three pressures and a quarterback hit. He walked out as the Lions’ lowest-graded pass blocker on the offensive line.
Al-Quadin Muhammad
He had such a breakout game against the Ravens on Monday with five pressures and 2.5 sacks. In this one, he was quiet with just one pressure and no tackles on 25 snaps. There shouldn’t be any cause for concern; it’s just a tiny bit of a letdown after such a big game. But hey, they can’t all be big games.
