The Detroit Lions' schedule is out. Free agency and the draft are over too. We pretty much have all the answers when it comes to what rosters will look like. Now it's time to take a look at the Lions' schedule and see the quarterbacks they'll be facing in 2024. Let's jump into it.
Matthew Stafford
Right off the bat the Lions will welcome former Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford into Ford Field for a rematch of last season's Wild Card round. Stafford is no doubt going to be looking for revenge on Detroit for booing him. This is going to be a big test for the Lions new secondary right out of the gate.
Baker Mayfield
The Lions played against Mayfield twice last season. There's some familiarity there for sure. The most interesting thing to watch is Carlton Davis. How will he play against his former team and will that help him in this game?
Kyler Murray
It's been a while since the Lions saw Murray, but when they did, it was one hell of a game in 2021. The lowly Lions lit up the playoff bound Cardinals in their best game of that season. What will this Cardinals team look like? This will be the first mobile quarterback the Lions face this season. We'll get to see how they handle that in 2024.
Geno Smith
Smith just beats the Lions up. He seems to have their number based off the last two outings. He's a very accurate quarterback that gets the ball out fast and is hard to get to. What will Aaron Glenn draw up to finally get a win over the Seahawks?
Dak Prescott
The Lions had Prescott mostly figured out in the last two meetings, but he was still able to get some big plays off. That'll happen when you're throwing to CeeDee Lamb. The Lions have to get to Prescott early and often and make sure they don't miss on sacks this time.
J.J. McCarthy
The assumption right now is that the rookie will start for the Vikings and Sam Darnold will back him up. He's a bit of mystery since the Wolverines didn't have him throw a ton during his time at Michigan. He was pretty sharp when he did throw though. This should be a good one.
Will Levis
Levis has a cannon on him, and the Titans now have a pretty deep receiving corps. He's kind of the guy that nobody is thinking about but could wind up having a big year. This will be another big test for the secondary because he wings that pig.
Jordan Love
People are already ready to crown this kid. I don't see it yet, but I will tell you that he's got what it takes to be good. But he's also shown that he can be rattled and that he can be sacked. The Lions need to make sure they rattle and sack him.
C.J. Stroud
This kid is really good and might already be one of the leagues best quarterbacks. He's got new weapons like Stefon Diggs too. This is going to be a very hard game and if things fall right, the Lions could potentially see Stroud again in February.
Trevor Lawrence
Lawrence has moments where he can be really good. But he also has moments where he can be really bad. No quarterback has turned the ball over more in the last three years. He has 60 total turnovers in that time. The Lions must take advantage of that.
Anthony Richardson
We only got to see just a little bit of Richardson last season before he got hurt and he looked pretty good. He's got great athleticism, and he can launch it. The big thing on him coming out was that he still needed experience. We'll see how he looks in 2024.
Caleb Williams
The number one pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. We don't often see the type of hype that he got. Andrew Luck might have been the last guy to see that much hype pre-draft. He's crazy athletic and he can throw it, but we've seen him make plenty of erratic decisions as well. Let's see how he does.
Josh Allen
One of the best in the game for sure. Allen is a killer out there with his rocket arm and his fast legs. He does have a turnover problem though. We mentioned that Lawrence has 60 turnovers in three years, Allen has 59.
Brock Purdy
Purdy can play. He may be a benefactor of some of the craziest luck you'll see on the football field, but it happens. The Lions need to get to him and rattle him. They did that in the early going of the NFC Championship game and it worked. Then balls started bouncing off facemasks and into the hands of his receivers and the luck just beat the Lions.
The Detroit Lions are now one of the NFL’s go to teams, that comes with a change for fans
It's amazing how much things have changed for the Detroit Lions in such a short period of time. It wasn't long ago when the Lions were the team that everyone laughed at and expected to be bad. They were banished to that 1:00 time slot and the only time anyone saw them was on Thanksgiving. […]
