Last year, the Detroit Lions had a really tough loss when Aidan Hutchinson, who was well on his way to winning Defensive Player of the Year, broke his leg in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Since then, the questions about his rehabilitation and when he can come back have been all the rage. Sure, there was that time when people thought that Hutchinson would come back for the Super Bowl had the Lions made it.
When asked about that on Thursday, Hutchinson said, "I guess we'll never know. But that wasn't the big thing to talk about from Hutchinson. The big thing was that Hutchinson announced that he he fully cleared to resume football activities.
This is huge for the Lions and for Hutchinson. With a compressed offseason and camp starting early, it means he can get right on the field immediately and be a part of training camp. This also means he's pretty much a lock for Week 1 against the Packers.
Huge news from the Lions. The other good thing is that Hutchinson said he did not have any setbacks in his rehab. So he's ready to go.
