Former Detroit Lions linebacker Antwione Williams is being charged in connection to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot that took place following the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Williams is being charged for allegedly being one of the first people to breach a restricted perimeter in front of the Capitol while the election results were being certified.
According to a complaint filed to the U.S. Attorney's office “Williams pushed through a group of rioters that formed and attacked and overcame the U.S. Capitol Police officers." Williams is allegedly the induvial in the photo below.

Williams was arrested in Savannah, Georgia last Thursday and is facing multiple charges. Williams' attorney did not comment on the arrest or the charges.
Williams was drafted by the Lions in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He played 14 games for the Lions and started three that season. Williams also spent time with the Vikings, Seahawks and Panthers and was a member of the DC Defenders of the XFL.
