Week two of Detroit Lions training camp is pretty much in the books, and now we have a preseason game to look forward to on Thursday. With the Lions off on Wednesday, it’s a good day to answer some of the many questions Lions fans have right now.

Not at all. Lions head coach Dan Campbell said on Tuesday that Joseph “just had a little bit of a knee irritation. He’ll be good. We’re hoping to get him back Saturday.” So no worries there. He should be back in a few days and good to go.

Campbell wanted both Tate Ratledge and Tyleik Williams to get more reps in practice before he put them out in a game. He did say that both could play against the Falcons next week. It’s just such a quick turnaround. Why not make sure they’re totally ready?

As for Keith Cooper Jr, I have to be honest, he’s been a little lost in the shuffle for me in the first few days of pads. With that said, he did get home on a split sack with Pat O’Connor in Tuesday’s scrimmage. Really looking forward to seeing what he does against the Chargers on Thursday.

Arnold left the scrimmage a little early, and the Lions are evaluating him for a hamstring injury. That’s all we know at this time. As for Robertson, we haven’t been given any information on his injury, but he did tell local media that it wasn’t a big deal and he should be back soon.

Do you think the Lions offer Christian Wilkins a deal?

I do not, and it’s for a few different reasons, and none of them have anything to do with kisses. The concerning thing is the disagreement on how to deal with the rehab from his foot injury. The team wanted him to get surgery, and he refused to do it. That’s not a good sign if you’re hoping someone will gel with the Lions culture.

The other thing is that the Lions a re pretty set along the interrior. Tyleik Williams looks ready to go, DJ Reader looks like he did two years ago with the Bengals, Roy Lopez looks great out there too, and the Lions are slated to get Mekhi Wingo back in September and Alim McNeill back possibly earlier than expected. So there’s just not a need there right now.

What is your concern level if Decker misses time this year? Because in my eyes it could be a major disaster if Skipper and Manu are next man up. Skipper has been dreadful and Manu is not an NFL ready back-up.

I love Dan Skipper as a swing tackle, but we saw on Tuesday that if he’s playing left tackle to start the season, the Lions could be in trouble. Aidan Hutchinson flat-out abused him all day and got three sacks because of it. Granted, that’s Hutchinson, and not every edge is that good, but still, the Lions need Decker back.

The good news is he is expected to be back before the season. Last week, Campbell said the hope was to get him back after the Hall of Fame game. So he could be pads before you know it.

Right now, Tim Patrick shouldn’t be too concerned. That’s not saying that Isaac TeSlaa isn’t looking good, it’s just saying that the Lions might take their time with him. Plus, Patrick has looked pretty good so far this summer. Kind of looks close to his old Broncos self.

Other writers might disagree with me, but I do think Kalif Raymond should be concerned because every day Dominic Lovett looks just a little better than he did the day before. I said it on Tuesday, that 4.40 40-yard dash time he got at his pro day just doesn’t seem to do him justice. He might be faster than that. He’s doing well as a gunner, and we saw him do really well as a return man. The receiving is not bad either. If he just keeps getting better and proving himself more and more all summer, there’s really no reason why the Lions wouldn’t put him in place ahead of Raymond a year early.

I don’t think so. That is not to say that TeSlaa won’t be a good receiver. I think he will be, and the Lions will look great for picking him. I don’t know if he’s ever going to be a star on the level that St. Brown is on, and that is totally ok. He doesn’t need to be, and that shouldn’t be the expectation for him.

In my opinion, I think what you get out of TeSlaa is going to be very similar to Tim Patrick or Josh Reynolds. Big chunk plays off contested catches for first downs and red zone contested catch ability. The fact that he can stretch the field is just a bonus.
