The Detroit Lions just made All-Pro safety Kerby Joseph the highest-paid safety in NFL history on Wednesday when they signed him to a four-year, $86 million deal. We know they're not done yet because the Aidan Hutchinson extension is expected any day now. But those two guys might not be alone.

Amik Robertson might be joining them very soon. At least that's the way it looks from his Instagram story.

The Lions signed Robertson to a two-year deal during last year's free agency and and he's now up for an extension after a very good season in which he showed that he can start on both the inside and the outside. He could very well have also signed a new deal since he's in the building right now for offseason workouts.

Back in early February, when it seemed like there was a really good chance that Carlton Davis could be moving on, we did a projection for how much a Robertson extension could be. This is what cap expert Joshua Queipo and I came up with:

Two-year $11 million with $5 million guaranteed

This would keep Robertson in town until 2027 and would help the Lions keep together and very good group at cornerback for the foreseeable future.

We'll soon see if Robertson's post is related to him getting a new and much-deserved deal or if he got paid for another reason. Maybe tomorrow. The Lions seem to love getting these things done right before the draft.
