The Detroit Lions had their rookie minicamp last weekend and tried out multiple veterans and rookies. A few guys really stood out and earned themselves deals with the team.

They will be singing former Michigan State defensive lineman Raequan Williams, Former Packer receiver Malik Taylor, and rookie tight end Luke Deal. To make room, they've waived rookie tight end Caden Prieskorn.

WR Malik Taylor

The former Ferris State Bulldog and Flint native went undrafted in 2019 and has spent some time with the Buccaneers, Packers, and Jets. He's mostly been a practice squad guy. He did play 10 games for the Packers and one for the Jets, though.

DL Raequan Williams

The former Spartan went undrafted in 2020 and has spent some time with the Eagles, Panthers, and Jaguars. He's played seven NFL games and started one. He hasn't played a regular-season game since 2021, though.

TE Luke Deal

The rookie tight end out of Auburn was invited to the Lions' rookie minicamp and must have made a big enough name for himself to get this show to possibly go to camp with Detroit. Deal was at Auburn for six seasons, and he was primarily a blocking tight end, and that was it. Deal was a really good pass blocker and an ok run blocker.
