Something that hasn't happened to the Detroit Lions recently, but has hurt them in the past, is communication issues via the headsets. 

During Dan Campbell's time in Detroit, there were two instances where their headsets went out on the road. Once in Los Angeles against the Rams in 2021, where the headsets went out and the Lions couldn't get a play in on time, and it cost them a delay of game penalty.

Then, another time in 2022, in Dallas, the Lions staff could hear what was being said, but couldn't talk. 

Those are just the two times that have been talked about and reported. There could have been other times that we just don't know about. It may not be something that's killing games, but it's something. 

The NFL is trying something new this year with brand-new headsets for each team made by Sony. They have new noise-canceling technology and are weather-safe, so you don't have to worry about them getting ruined in snow or rain. Not sure how they do with coaches spiking them on the ground when they're mad, but they're designed to work well when used correctly. 

The headsets will be used by teams during training camp, but the Lions and Chargers will be the first teams the use them in a game when they play the Hall of Fame game at the end of the month.
