The Detroit Lions will be starting training camp this weekend, and they have a whole slough of players that are not going to be able to perform to start. 10 players in all. Let's take a look at what we got. OT Taylor Decker, CB Khalil Dorsey, OG Miles Frazier, DL Alim McNeill, LB Malcolm […]
The Detroit Lions will be starting training camp this weekend, and they have a whole slough of players that are not going to be able to perform to start. 10 players in all. Let's take a look at what we got.
OT Taylor Decker, CB Khalil Dorsey, OG Miles Frazier, DL Alim McNeill, LB Malcolm Rodriguez, DL Mekhi Wingo added to Physically Unable to Perform list
We knew that Alim McNeill and Malcom Rodriguez were going to be on the PUP this year. Khalil Dorsey and Mekhi Wingo were expected to a degree. Miles Friazer and Taylor Decker are a bit surprising.
We'll have to ask about those over the weekend. It should be noted that if you're concerned about these players long term, you can come off the PUP list at any time.
DL Josh Paschal, CB Stantley Thomas-Oliver added to Non-Football Injury list
Similar to the Pup list, these guys can come off the list at any time. We don't know what the details are with Pascahl or Thomas-Oliver, but this is not likely a season-ending thing.
DL Levi Onwuzurike is on the reserve/physically unable to perform list
Now, this is the one to be concerned about. Onwuzurike being placed on the reserve/PUP means he's not going to participate during training camp, and he's going to miss the first four games of the year. Not sure what the injury is, and we'll look to get updates as the camp opens up over the weekend.
Lions waive RB Anthony Tyuss with a non-football illness
This would explain why the Lions are spending so much time looking at running backs this week. Best of luck to Tyuss with the illness and finding his next stop.
