The Detroit Lions are about to go into a big game against the Washington Commanders in the Divisional round of the NFL Playoffs on Saturday and they're going to need all hands on deck from here on out.
While it hasn't been officially announced yet, the Lions are expected to get David Montgomery back for this game and that's a huge get. Ennis Rakestraw should also be back too.
But there are some concerns about whether or not the Lions will have Terrion Arnold and Kevin Zietler in this one. Both left Week 18's game with injuries. For Arnold, it was a foot injury and for Zietler it was a calf injury.
There was some positive news coming out of the game when Lions head coach Dan Campbell told local media that Arnold's initial X-rays came back negative. There was more optimism when Arnold told the media in the locker room that he was going to play in the Divisional round.
As for Zietler, Campbell said the following Monday that the team got positive news on him, but that he couldn't guarantee that meant he would play in the next game.
On Monday Campbell was asked if there were any new updates on Arnold and Zietler and if they were expected to be back, and he was unsure.
"I’ll know more tomorrow as to where everybody’s at, but yeah, I can’t give you a straight-up answer off of three days off, really. I mean, I just know everybody’s treatment has gone well and we’ll see.”
The Lions are back at practice on Tuesday and we're going to find out pretty quick if these guys can go or not by seeing if they're on the field for practice and seeing if that's a full practice or a limited practice. We'll update this piece as soon as we know what's up.
Update: The Lions had a walk through on Tuesday, but Arnold was an estimated full participant. Zietler on the other hand was listed as a no practice.
Why you shouldn’t worry about Tom Brady calling the Lions vs Commanders game and tampering with Ben Johnson

Why should we care about the commentator in this game right? Well, the difference here is that Brady is a minority owner of the […]
