With all the injuries, the Lions should bring back three familiar faces to their practice squad, including a former first round pick
The Detroit Lions are a full on M.A.S.H. unit at this point. ON Thursday we saw Malcolm Rodriguez go down in what sounded like an injury that could take some time to get better from. Josh Paschal and Levi Onwuzurike went down too and they could miss some time as well. Couple those with Taylor […]
The Detroit Lions are a full on M.A.S.H. unit at this point. ON Thursday we saw Malcolm Rodriguez go down in what sounded like an injury that could take some time to get better from. Josh Paschal and Levi Onwuzurike went down too and they could miss some time as well.
Couple those with Taylor Decker being down and Carlton Davis too. Plus the Lions have Kalif Raymond, Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Ifeatu Melifonwu, Ennis Rakestraw, Derrick Barnes and Alex Anzalone on injured reserve. It's going crazy right now.
There's not a lot of options for the Lions at the moment. They can go next man up, but even the next man up is injured. They need to go find some help and there's some guys out there that were just recently with the Lions that can help. Detroit should consider bringing these three guys back for the late stretch until they get fully healthy.
Quinton Bohanna
The Lions lost a bunch of linemen and we don't know what the timeline is on getting Brodric Martin fully involved just yet. Bohanna was with the Lions last year off the practice squad and played pretty well until the Titans poached him away.
Bohanna just got moved to the Seahawks practice squad, so this will be a poaching situation, but it would one that brings the Lions some instant help.
Jerry Jacobs
I talked about Jacobs coming back to Detroit earlier this week after Kindle Vildor struggled against the Colts. It's wild that this guy hasn't been signed to a team yet. He keeps getting workouts, but no team is signing him. The Lions practice squad would be a perfect spot for him right now because what this guy needs more than anything is a game or two to show that he can do this job still. The Lions may have the opening for him to do that.
Jarrad Davis
Hear me out here before you get all crazy. We know that this is a short term thing. We're not talking about this guy coming in to start or anything crazy. We're talking about a practice squad spot.
The thing about Davis is that he could some of the things that Anzalone and Rodriguez can do. His problem was always finishing. When he could finish, it looked great. when he couldn't you hated it.
Right now we're in a bit of 'desperate times calls for desperate measures' type situation. The Lions linebacking corps, which was their deepest unit, is just taking hit after hit with these injuries. Here's an idea to try. It's the one of these three that's the most riskiest for sure.
Two players have big bounce back games in an injury riddled win for the Lions, plus 8 more big takeaways from Thanksgiving
It's Thanksgiving, of course it's stressful Would it be a holiday game if it didn't stress the hell out of you? The Lions didn't play their best game of the year on Thanksgiving and it's because of that this game went the way that it did. That and all the injuries continuing to add up. […]
