ESPN analyst/former Notre Dame standout Rocky Boiman offered a dire warning to Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow this week.

Boiman responded on Tuesday to New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers' comment that Burrow is playing through more pain than anyone realizes.

The former fourth round NFL draft pick tweeted that Cincinnati better hope that Burrow's calf injury gets to 100 percent "ASAP", otherwise he doesn't think the superstar quarterback will hold up all season.

"Bengals need to hope Burrow’s calf gets to 100% ASAP," tweeted Boiman "As any athlete knows, injuries breed more injuries, favor one side of the body for too long and the other side gives out. He can’t be out there at 3/4s speed for the next month, he won’t last."

There's certainly growing concern that Burrow's injury could linger all season.

The Bengals, however, are in a tough spot right now. They can't afford to fall further behind in the AFC North, which they'd risk by sitting Burrow.

But there's no guarantee that continuing to play Burrow will lead to wins. Burrow just isn't himself right now while dealing with the calf injury. And if it lingers all season, this could be the Burrow that the Bengals get all season.

Boiman's comment might seem over the top, but there's no evidence, for now, that Burrow is anywhere close to being 100 percent.
