The 2025 NFL Draft is over, and the Detroit Lions had a solid draft haul. Then, afterwards, they went and signed 11 undrafted free agents. Now that those signings are official, here's some insight into each player.
North Dakota State OL Mason Miller
The 6-foot-7 and 305-pound lineman has started for the Bison for the last three seasons primarily at right tackle, but he's also started at left guard. Kind of polar opposites there. Miller is coming off his strongest season. He allowed 16 pressures and one sack.
Ohio RB Anthony Tyus
Tyus was initially at Northwestern, but didn't get a lot of pay there in his first three seasons. He transferred to Ohio for his senior season and had a big season with 940 yards and eight touchdowns.
Syracuse WR Jackson Meeks
We've already covered Meeks quite a bit here, but if you missed it, this one is a potential big steal for the Lions. Has a lot of contested catch ability and can high point. He has a real shot at making the 53-man roster. He had 72 receptions for 910 yards and seven touchdowns. He's one of the guys we think the rest of the league will regret not taking.
Ole Miss TE Caden Prieskorn
A potential pass-catching tight end. At Memphis, he put up nearly 600 yards and six touchdowns the year before transferring to Ole Miss. He became something of a second option there. He has sure hands and some blocking ability.
Grand Valley State S Ian Kennelly
Kennelly had a strong season for the Lakers with 64 tackles, three pass breakups, three interceptions, a forced fumble, and a blocked punt. This team employed two undrafted safeties on its 53-man roster last year. Maybe Kennelly could get a shot.
UMass WR Jakobie Keeny-Jackson
Another guy who didn't get a lot of play until he transferred. Keen-Jackson went from Eastern Washington to UMass and had a breakout season for the Minutemen. He had 51 receptions for 870 yards and six touchdowns.
Arizona State OL Leif Fautanu
A center who could come in and give a real challenge to Kingsley Eguakun for the heir to Frank Ragnow's throne. He is coming off a very good season in which he allowed just eight pressures and no sacks. If he weren't undersized, this guy would absolutely be a draft pick. Teams will regret caring about the measurable so much.
Houston DL Keith Cooper Jr.
He's really come into his game in the last two seasons since moving from defensive tackle to edge. In Detroit, he has a shot to play a versatile role. Last season, he put up 29 pressures and four sacks.
Texas CB Gavin Holmes
Spent time at both Wake Forest and Texas. He was more of a starter at the former. In Texas, he spent time on the special teams unit, and that's where he has his best shot with the Lions.
Boston College RB Kye Robichaux
A guy who Lions guard Christian Mahogany used to open up holes for at Boston College. He's coming off a 720-yard and 10-touchdown season
Indiana TE Zach Horton
Another guy we've gone into detail on. His run blocking is going to give him a real shot at cracking the roster. There's also a possibility that he could be a fullback as well. Teams may regret taking a guy who can run block as well as him.
Rookie mini-camp invites:
Eastern Michigan QB Cole Snyder
It's a bit surprising that the Lions didn't draft a quarterback late in the draft. Snyder could possibly be a guy who could fit in a spot this summer if he were the team's rookie mini-cap. He had a solid season in 2024, throwing for 2,684 yards and nine touchdowns. He also has some mobility, he ran for 323 yards and four touchdowns. This will be the second look the Lions have taken at him. They invited him to their local pro day in April.
Now that Aidan Hutchinson is cleared, here’s when you might expect him to sign his big market-changing extension
The Detroit Lions got some big news on Thursday when Aidan Hutchinson stood at the podium and announced to local media that he his fully cleared to resume football activities. Absolutely huge news. Now the question is wondering when will Hutchinson get that huge extension that everyone expects him to get? An extension that could […]
