Green Bay Packers linebacker has been dealing with an ankle injury since the team's Week 3 over the New Orleans Saints and it caused him to miss the Week 4 matchup against the Detroit Lions.

And based off what Campbell recently said on Green Bay's 107.5 The Fan, it could be a couple more weeks til he's back in action.

Campbell told the station he suffered a high ankle sprain on the first play of the Saints game. The All-Pro also dealt with an ankle injury during training camp and it held him out of action for a couple of weeks.

High ankle sprains typically mean a player is unable to play for a few weeks, but the recovery timelines can certainly vary. As we all know, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the playoffs and came back the next week to play against the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship game before beating the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.

Mac Jones suffered a high ankle sprain in 2022 and was out three weeks. Saquon Barkley has missed the last two games with a HAS (he also missed three in 2019 with a high ankle sprain). And then, there's the super-severe case of Cooper Kupp, who had to have tightrope surgery and missed the final eight weeks of last season.

Campbell later added he "felt good", so it sounds like his recovery is progressing. The Packers obviously have an extra day before they play on Monday Night Football, but it's unclear as to whether or not Campbell will be available. The Packers will release their first official injury report of the week on Thursday, so we'll have an idea of how things are going, then.

But, if things go well, there's a good chance Campbell is ready after the team's Week 6 bye. It'll be October 22 when the Packers travel to Denver to take on the Broncos, which is nearly a full month removed from the Saints matchup. Unless Campbell's HAS is of the very severe variety, one would think he'll be ready to go by then.

That's obviously big for a defense that has been very inconsistent when it comes to stopping the run in the first four games of the season. Plus, Campbell is a leader and that is sorely missed on the field.
