The Green Bay Packers won’t have wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The third-year receiver suffered a calf injury during last week’s 27-23 win over the Arizona Cardinals, and after missing the entire week of practice, Wicks has been ruled out ahead of the game on “Sunday Night Football.”

Theoretically, that would be a huge opportunity for Matthew Golden. However, the rookie is now questionable after being added to the injury report on Friday due to a hip injury — he was limited at practice on Friday.

Since Wicks is out, with Golden and Watson listed as questionable, the only healthy receivers on the Packers roster are Romeo Doubs, Malik Heath, and Savion Williams. Green Bay also has Will Sheppard, Isaiah Neyor, and Jakobie Keeney-James on the practice squad.

How Golden has done

So far this season, rookie receiver Matthew Golden has played a significant 63.25% of the offensive snaps, but that number will inevitably go up against the Steelers if Golden can play. Without Wicks, who’s played 53.28% of the snaps, in addition to the absence of Jayden Reed, Golden becomes an even bigger part of the offensive structure. Romeo Doubs leads the Packers’ receivers playing 83.73% of the snaps.

In six games for Green Bay, Matthew Golden has generated 18 catches for 249 yards. With Wicks getting out of the game against the Cardinals, the rookie played a season-high 73.2% of the snaps on offense.

There’s a possibility that Christian Watson gets activated from the physically unable to perform list. The positive update on that front is that Watson is listed as questionable after being ruled out in each of the past two Fridays.

More injury notes

> Edge defender Lukas Van Ness will miss his second consecutive game due to a foot injury he suffered against the Cincinnati Bengals. He missed practice throughout the week and won’t be ready for Sunday.

> Meanwhile, defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt will be a game-time decision. After missing the past two games with a knee injury suffered against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4, Wyatt is officially listed as questionable after practicing on a limited basis this week.

> Fellow defensive tackle Warren Brinson has also been added to the report on Friday with a hamstring injury and is questionable to play as well.

> Kicker Brandon McManus was limited at practice on Thursday and Friday. After missing the last two games with a quad injury, he is now listed as questionable.

Other side
