It's a new reality for NFL fans. After the broadcast open TV and cable TV eras, now we live in a world where the content is spread around several platforms, and it might be harder (and more expensive) to have access to everything.
For the 2024 NFL season, there will be the traditional broadcasting channels (NBC, Fox, CBS), a cable TV channel (ESPN), but also four streaming services (Amazon Prime, Netflix, Peacock, and ESPN+).
Our friend Mike Payton, who covers the Detroit Lions for A to Z Sports, did the exercise of finding out how much it will cost for each team's fans to have access to every game of the regular season. For the entire league, it gets between $370 and $390.98 for the season.
The Packers will be on the more expensive side of the spectrum, with a cost of $389.98. And that happens because Green Bay opens the season against the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Brazil game on a Friday night will be broadcasted by Peacock — the NBC streaming device. Moreover, the Packers will have a Thursday Night Football game against the Detroit Lions in week 14 on Amazon Prime Video, and a week 16 game against the New Orleans Saints on ESPN.
Other than that, unless something gets flexed, the Packers will have eight games on Fox, three on CBS, and two on NBC. Week 18 game against the Chicago Bears is yet to be determined, but unless it's a Sunday Night Football game, it will likely be on Fox.
An important caveat is that it only applies to the United States market, as international broadcasting rights work differently. For example, I live in Brazil, so I can just have an annual NFL Game Pass subscription to have access to every NFL preseason, regular season, and postseason game.
