After spending a year as the Packers defensive quality control coach, Anthony Perkins followed Campanile to Jacksonville to be their secondary coach.
Perkins started his coaching career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as part of the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship in 2016, and then was hired as the assistant to the head coach for two years. After that, he spent three seasons at Colorado State and one at Oregon State as the cornerbacks coach.
Last offseason, he returned to the NFL as a defensive quality control coach, which is an entry level of the coaching staff.
The Packers also have Wendel Davis as a defensive quality control and Sean Duggan as a defensive assistant.
Now, head coach Matt LaFleur and defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley will have multiple positions to address. It's unclear if the team will hire a run game coordinator, if it will be the new linebackers coach, or if there will be separate assistants for the positions.
Better piece of news
While the Packers have lost two defensive assistants, it seems like offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich will stay around.
He had interviewed for the Houston Texans OC job, but DeMeco Ryans ultimately decided to hire Rams tight ends coach and pass game coordinator Nick Caley.
