The Green Bay Packers offense got off to another slow start against the Denver Broncos and things got really weird when the refs decided to flag center Josh Myers for what they deemed a false start.
The only problem is it wasn't a false start. Myers simply raised his head like all centers do. And instead of getting a free play and an offsides call that would've given the Packers a 4th and 2 from the Broncos 41, the Packers were stuck with a 4th and 12 from their own 49.
The key, here, is the Packers were down by three points at the time. A call like this easily affected the flow and strategy of the game. There's a very good chance Packers head coach Matt LaFleur would've gone for it on the 4th and 2. Instead, he was left with nothing thanks to a decision he had zero control over.
The Broncos responded with a field goal on the ensuing drive to increase their lead to six points. It'll be interesting to hear what LaFleur has to say about the call after the game.
