The Green Bay Packers have good and bad pieces of news before playing the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Running back Aaron Jones and left guard Elgton Jenkins are good to go, so the offense will be at almost full strength — except for left tackle David Bakhtiari, who's already ruled out for the rest of the season.

However, the defense has two impactful absences: cornerback Jaire Alexander, with a back injury, and off-ball linebacker De'Vondre Campbell, with a high ankle sprain.

Offense

Jones is a big piece of the Packers offense, so his return is a huge factor for a unit trying to get back on track after two mediocre performances. Aaron Jones injured his hamstring in week 1, against the Chicago Bears. Since then, he missed the games against the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints. Jones got back for the Detroit Lions game, but was on a pitch count. He aggravated the injury and missed another game before the bye, against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Elgton Jenkins injured his knee and missed Friday's practice, but the expectation was for him to play since the beginning of the day. With him, the offensive line will be with its ideal formation: Rasheed Walker – Elgton Jenkins – Josh Myers – Jon Runyan – Zach Tom.

Swing tackle Yosh Nijman, who was questionable with a knee injury, is also active.

Defense

Star cornerback Jaire Alexander is out. He missed the Lions game and was back against the Raiders. He practiced at full on Wednesday, but re-appeared on the injury report on Thursday and didn't practice on Friday because of the same back injury.

On the other hand, Eric Stokes was activated from the physically unable to perform list and is active.

Off-ball linebacker De'Vondre Campbell, who was doubtful because of a high ankle sprain, will miss another game. Quay Walker (knee), injured during the Las Vegas game, is good to go. Darnell Savage (calf) and Devonte Wyatt (knee) are also active.

It's unclear if Zayne Anderson is inactive because of his hamstring injury or if he's a healthy scratch.

Inactive list

This is the first game this season in which the Packers didn’t elevate any player from the practice squad for gameday. Therefore, there are only five inactive players.

WR Malik Heath
CB Jaire Alexander
S Zayne Anderson
LB De'Vondre Campbell
OT Caleb Jones
