The Green Bay Packers need Jordan Love to get on track as quickly as possible and a big part of making sure that happens is what Christian Watson can do in Year 2.
So far, the two have hooked up for several big plays over the course of OTAs, minicamp, and the early stages of training camp. But, the key with all of the aforementioned context is all of the involved practices have been in t-shirts and shorts: no pads have been involved.
As we all know, things get real when the pads come on. So, it's obviously a great sign to see Love and Watson hook up again during Practice 5, which is spiders and shells. Sure, it's not full-blown pads, which come on Tuesday, but it's still important to see these two continue to hook up despite a tougher environment.
Love hit Watson right in the chest for what looks to be around a 68-yard touchdown on Monday and fortunately, it was caught on a video by the Pack Only Podcast's Caden Sunila on the sidelines:
Per reports, Love continued to build off an impressive Saturday practice. So, it looks like things are clicking as the heat turns up, both figuratively and literally.
Jordan Love will probably turn down a big opportunity from Peyton Manning
It’d be interesting to see how the Packers quarterback could fit into the puzzle.
