The Green Bay Packers will have their full secondary back against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Cornerback Jaire Alexander and rookie safety Evan Williams are officially active despite injuries that made them miss the Detroit Lions game. They were listed as questionable to play.

Jaire Alexander is active after missing one game with a knee injury he suffered three weeks ago against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Earlier this week, head coach Matt LaFleur had already indicated the team was optimistic about having the star cornerback on the field for the rivalry game.

Alexander missed three games this season. The first two ones, against the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams, were because of a groin injury.

Alexander practiced the entire week, even though he was listed as a limited participant.

With Alexander back, Eric Stokes goes back to the bench, and the Packers get more flexibility to build the secondary.

Safety Evan Williams is back into the lineup as well. The rookie had suffered a hamstring injury during the Jaguars game, which forced him to miss the Detroit Lions game. But the bye week was helpful for the young player, and he's healthy enough to play now.

With Williams back, the Packers defense has the possibility of moving fellow rookie defensive back Javon Bullard to the slot and Keisean Nixon to the boundary. Against the Lions, Bullard had to play deep safety alongside Xavier McKinney, and Nixon was the slot, forcing the Packers to use Eric Stokes and Carrington Valentine as the outside corners.

Who's out

As projected, defensive tackle Colby Wooden is inactive. The second-year player didn't practice the entire week because of a shoulder injury and was officially listed as doubtful. Moreover, even if he was healthy the Packers have enough options to keep Wooden inactive. The top of the interior of the defensive line rotation has Kenny Clark, TJ Slaton, Devonte Wyatt, and Karl Brooks.

First-round rookie Jordan Morgan had already been ruled out on Friday and placed on the injured reserve on Saturday, as he aggravated a shoulder injury. The player had rotated with Sean Rhyan at right guard and started at left guard against the Lions, when center Josh Myers was injured.

Packers inactives:

  • CB Robert Rochell
  • S Kitan Oladapo
  • T Travis Glover
  • DL Colby Wooden

Other side

Edge rusher Montez Sweat, who was questionable, is officially active.
