The Green Bay Packers received significant and corcerning news on Friday. Left tackle Rasheed Walker appeared on the injury report as a limited participant at practice because of a knee injury. He was officially listed as questionable to play.
First-round rookie Jordan Morgan, who's been mostly a guard, is still recovering from a shoulder injury and is also questionable.
If Walker can't play on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, the Packers options at left tackle are veteran Andre Dillard and youngster Kadeem Telfort. Other options would include moving left guard Elgton Jenkins or right tackle Zach Tom.
More offensive injury news
Wide receiver Christian Watson is officially questionable to play against the Cardinals on Sunday. Getting back from a medial ankle sprain, the third-year offensive weapon progressed this week, practicing in limited capacity all three days.
Last week, Watson had been listed as doubtful, and there was a chance that he was going to miss at least three weeks. However, it's not a high-ankle sprain as initially projected, so the receiver will return early.
It's still not certain that Watson will play against the Cardinals, but he seems to be on track for that — or at the latest next week, when the Packers face the Houston Texans.
Meanwhile, tight end Luke Musgrave has a more serious ankle injury and is expected to land on injured reserve. He's out this week, and if placed on IR will miss at least three more games.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur also confirmed that wide receiver Romeo Doubs and tight end Tucker Kraft will play. Kraft appeared on the injury report on Thursday with a groin injury, but LaFleur said "he should be good to go."
Regarding Doubs, who missed last week's game after being suspended by the team, LaFleur is optimistic.
"Great," the head coach said when asked how Doubs has responded this week. "He's done a nice job. Gone in, worked. Just done a great job."
Cornerback room
There is a positive vibe around the cornerback room after a tough injury sequence. All-Pro Jaire Alexander practiced all week, even if limited with a groin injury, and is questionable.
Carrington Valentine, who missed two games with an ankle injury but returned against the Los Angeles Rams, is off the injury report and good to go.
The only other questionable player is edge defender Arron Mosby.
Out and in
Besides Luke Musgrave, defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt will miss his second game in a row — also because of an ankle injury. The defender, though, is not expected to be placed on IR.
Fellow defensive tackle Jonathan Ford is available to return to the active roster, but the Packers would have to make a move — he started the season on IR because of a calf injury.
Safety Zayne Anderson (elbow), defensive tackle Kenny Clark (toe), linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (hip), guard Elgton Jenkins (knee), tight end Tucker Kraft (groin), and tackle Zach Tom (shoulder) will all be available to play.
