You don't typically see major personnel moves in June, but that's precisely what happened for the Indianapolis Colts.

A team source has confirmed to A to Z Sports that Chief Personnel Executive Morocco Brown is no longer with the team. At this time, it is not known why the Colts and Brown parted ways.

Chief Personnel Executive Morocco Brown is no longer with the Colts

Morocco Brown joined the Colts in 2017 as their Director of College Scouting and was promoted to Chief Personnel Executive in 2022. Brown has played a pivotal role in the Colts' NFL Draft process during Chris Ballard's time as general manager. He has been credited with playing a key role in the team's selections of Quenton Nelson, Shaquille Leonard, and Jonathan Taylor.

A recent player for whom Brown played a major role in the team's selection was QB Anthony Richardson, who hasn't performed as the team expected, to say the least. This news, being released under the radar this week through the team's updated front office roster, was strange to say the least, especially with how large of a role Brown has had with the team now for nearly a decade.

Brown has had numerous interviews for open general manager jobs in recent years, and that seems to be his long-term goal for. I expect to see him in a new role elsewhere in the NFL before the 2025 season. Perhaps one with a more feasible path to advancement within the organization. This is a major loss for the Colts, though, who lose one of their top NFL Draft decision makers, and it will be a big change in their process for scouting college players ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.
