A recent development makes it even more likely that Alec Pierce re-signs with the Colts and it wasn’t even something the team did
Recent news suggests Alec Pierce wants to stay with the Colts more than when the offseason started.
Most people believe the Indianapolis Colts plan to do everything in their power to retain Alec Pierce, who is set to become a free agent when the new year begins.
The wide receiver is coming off the best year of his career, recording his first-ever 1,000-yard season. Re-signing him is undoubtedly one of the Colts’ top priorities for the offseason, as he appears to be on the brink of becoming a star in this league.
Until Pierce signs on the dotted line to officially stay in Indianapolis, there will be people nervous about what could happen. A recent development likely makes it even more likely that Pierce chooses to stick around in Indiana, and it doesn’t even have anything to do with the Colts.
Alec Pierce’s brother Caden Pierce has committed to play for the Purdue Boilermakrrs
Pierce’s brother, Caden Pierce, is a fantastic athlete as well just in the basketball court instead of a football field. He elected to sit out this season and plans to use his final year of collegiate eligibility next year. There were multiple top programs interested in the former Princeton product and 2023-2024 Ivy League Player of the Year.
He ultimately lands at Purdue University, located in West Lafayette, Indiana. So if Alec returns to the Colts for the first time in his NFL career, his brother will also be in the same state. Making it significantly more accessible for him to attend his games next season.
The Pierce brothers, being just a couple of hours apart, would be a nice change of pace. There would also be a solid overlap of people rooting for both Purdue and the Colts, and therefore both Alec and Caden.
Having both in Indiana would also be ideal for the Pierce family. They are located in Illinois, and it would be easier for them to make the trip to West Lafayette to root on Purdue than to make it out to New Jersey to catch Princeton games.
